Special use of Leica ScanStation 2 and Leica ScanStation C10
Scanning Mount Rushmore - May 2010. The US National Parks Service set up a special website to document this historic 3D laser scanning project. An international collaboration between the US National Parks Service, CyArk, Historic Scotland, and Glasgow University's Digital Design Studio scanned the global landmark with unprecedented accuracy and completeness using a Leica ScanStation 2 and Leica ScanStation C10. Follow-on activities include transforming the laser scan data into final deliverables. The project is being documented by National Geographic magazine for print and television projects.
