Skills & Resources Needed to Succeed in Scanning
"What skills and resources are needed for success?" by Geoff Jacobs was published in the December 2004 issue of the Professional Surveyor. The article covers some of the basic skills and resources that are needed in order to successfully use 3D laser scanning on the job.
"The mere mention of 'millions of points' for a laser scanning/ high-definition survey can make knees shake. Professionals quickly see the potential value in rich, accurate, 3D data, but many also worry, 'How the heck am I going to work with all that data? We don’t have the skills to do something like that!' This article examines the skills/resources typically needed today for success as a provider of services that include laser scanning. These include fundamental skills/resources in field surveying and office processing, plus the business aspects of marketing and project estimating."
